Our Mission

This year, more than 1400 women in Australia alone will be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Over 800 of these same women will die from the disease—almost double the number of women who will die on our roads.

The Women’s Cancer Foundation’s ultimate goal is to reduce the mortality from this malignancy by engaging in international clinical trials, by finding ways to reverse resistance to cancer drugs and to work out how best to use a women’s own immune system to combat the disease.

It is obvious we will never ever be able to improve the outcome for ovarian cancer patients without doing properly controlled scientific studies. It is also clear, especially in this terrible economic downturn, that funding is going to become more and more difficult. We have to be continually innovative and need your support!
