Current Clinical Trials
Clinical Nurse Julie Silvers has been employed to undertake trials in our Immune Manipulation Project, and we can report that a number of patients have now joined the program in Melbourne.
We also have a number of participants in Belgium, in partnership with the University of Leuven.
We are undertaking the basic science part of the immune study with Monash University and already have made a very exciting finding involving a unique response of the immune system to ovarian cancer. This response we feel can be modified in such a way as to boost the immune system to deal with the cancer more effectively. This is very exciting news and we will keep you up to date with our progress.
We are proud to say that with the support of the Women's Cancer Foundation, the Royal Women's Hospital has the highest level of participation in Australia in trials for new gynaecological cancer treatments, which is achieved through our funding of Research Nurses.
